Irrigating with Sugarbeet Professing Wastewater*
نویسنده
چکیده
In recent years, irrigating agricultural land with wastewater has become a major wastewater management practice. Irrigation has replaced much of the discharge to streams and conventional primary and secondary waste treatment for food processing wastewater (4, 11, 12, 13). Irrigating agricultural land for treatment and disposal of the food processing wastewater is a good practice if the wastewater does not contain toxic constituents. Crdps grown on the land remove part of the plant nutrients supplied by the wastewater and can be fed to livestock (1, 2).

Methods of Nickel Removal from Valerian Irrigating Waste Water
Industrial development and extensive use of heavy metals have led to the problem of environmental pollution. Nickel compounds are toxic to plants and have detrimental effects on their growth. Valerian is a plant used in herbal medicine. Considering the hazards of nickel, various methods have been developed to remove this contaminant from herbs irrigation wastewater, including the common chemica...

Production and Characterization of Antiserum to Aphanomyces cochlioides
Methods for the evaluation of root rot disease in sugarbeet caused by pathogenic fungi historically have relied on visual assessment. In an initial attempt to develop complementary means to detect and quantitate root rot disease caused by Aphanornyces cochlioides, antiserum was produced in rabbits that had been immunized with a cell-wall preparation of this organism. Specificity tests using enz...
متن کاملThe Relationship of Heterodera schachtii Population Densities to Sugarbeet Yields.
Sugarbeet yields were contpared with field populations of Heterodera schachtii Schmidt. The correlation between sugarbeet yields and viable larvae/g of soil was negative and high, but that between sugarbeet yields and viable cysts/g of soil was lower. Sugarbeet yields were also compared with H. schachtii populations by years of rotation with a nonhost crop. The coefficients of correlation (r) b...
